No, no, no! Don’t raise your bats to glass, you drunk fools!!
I happen to think bats are cute — as long as I’m not stuck in a cave with them, they’re cool with me. But I’d have to guess that most folks probably don’t share that same sentiment. Well, love ’em or hate ’em, if you like to imbibe the sweet, sweet nectar that is tequila, you have to show these little guys some appreciation.
Pollinating bats in Mexico are responsible for the continual pollination of agave, which is the plant that tequila is derived from. Smithsonian just released this video in celebration of Pollinator Week, which is June 16th – 22nd.
