Adult Swim just posted the first episode of Mike Tyson Mysteries, and it’s streaming in full on their YouTube channel. Although I saw potential in the show’s trailers, I was still a bit skeptical as to whether it would actually deliver.
Well, I’m pleased to to tell you folks that it is, indeed, quite funny and I’m looking forward to future episodes and seasons.
Tyson plays himself as a private dick who goes around solving mysteries along with his sidekicks, a drunken pigeon (Norm Macdonald), a condescending, arrogant ghost (Jim Rash) and Mike’s adopted Korean daughter, Yung Hee, who is voiced by Rachel Ramras.
I love how Tyson pokes fun at himself, even parodying his own trademark speech impediment at times. After seeing so many interviews he’s done and other public appearances he has made in recent years, it’s really hard to still hate on the man. He seems to have genuinely gotten his shit together and turned his life around.
