From the guys who brought us the Dollar Shave Club video that went viral last year, comes their latest venture, One Wipe Charlies.
Since last March, dollarshaveclub.com has amassed 200,000 subscribers, no doubt due in any small part to their witty viral marketing. I don’t find the One Wipe Charlies video nearly as creative or funny, but I’m sure it will go viral just the same. The company’s notoriety and popularity is already established, they just have to keep the wind in their sails.
I see two problems with One Wipe Charlies: the price and the fact that the usage will differ. Whereas one razor is fine for a month, even if you shave every day, the amount and frequency of taking care of business varies. So you’d have to buy several boxes at a time to keep yourself safe. But at 4 dollars per box — 10 cents per wipe? That just seems a bit expensive to me.
I do applaud the company and their creative marketing as a whole though, and I wish them the best of luck with their latest endeavor.
