It’s amazing really, the tenacity one can muster when bored, unable to sleep and has a decent internet connection. YouTube is a bottomless pit of cheap entertainment in the twilight hours, when investing in anything longer than 10 minutes seems fruitless. On a normal, sleepless night at 5AM, I’m usually content with watching cute animal compilations coupled with some ASMR videos in the background. After a little while, my brain gives in to the the cute and the tingles — I can then float off to slumberland.
Not last night though. Last night I was on a mission to find something unique I had never seen or heard of before. I wasn’t necessarily in the mood for something funny, I guess it just kinda happened. I don’t remember exactly how I started my YouTube search, but it ended with the keywords “bbc, funny, comedy”. Which is rather odd, given the fact that I find most British humor to be about as funny as beans on toast is appetizing.
Well, I found something that met my particular criteria that evening, but guess what? It was an American doing a short bit for the BBC’s comedy channel. I had never heard of Reginald D. Hunter before, and for good reason, I suppose — he was born here in the U.S., but cut his teeth and made his career over in the U.K. Mhmm. Commie, no doubt.
This video actually had me laughing out loud to myself, which doesn’t happen as often as I’d like these days. It’s sad, but whatever — I’ll live.
Now go watch these crafty rascals play this useless game in their nicely-knitted v-neck sweaters.
