New York City, most known for taking the subway (or walking), has a swarm of commuters daily. On March, 2013, fare increases are on the way (again). One way trips will cost $2.50 up from $2.25 and a monthly unlimited is now $112 a month up from $104.
What’s interesting is the number of riders on the subway and the busiest subway stations. This infographic by CheapOair.com highlights just how many people go through the major stations in Manhattan.
If you’re a New Yorker or been to New York those numbers are huge. If you’re a fellow New Yorker, you can probably already guess which station has the most ridership. If you guessed, Times Square, you’re correct with 60,604,822 riders per year.
