More great news for fans of Mitchell Hurwitz’s Arrested Development. According to a report from Deadline, the Bluth family will have 2-5 more episodes added to the 10 currently planned for their fourth season.
While filming, Hurwitz — ever the comical-creative — came up with more material he now wants to implement in to the upcoming season.
Apparently there were so many extra story-lines that they found it necessary to craft a few more episodes for the Netflix-only 2013 releases.
A spokeswoman from Netflix released this statement to Deadline:
“We are thrilled with the direction of the show, with the footage we have seen and with the relationship between Mitch, Imagine, 20th and Netflix,” a Netflix spokeswoman told Deadline. “At this time, we are not confirming or announcing the final episode count but we are sure fans will be thrilled when we do.”
They’ve halted production briefly in order to integrate these additions and will continue filming in January, once they can organize the actors they need for the new material.
The projected spring 2013 premier date doesn’t seem to be compromised, so we should be enjoying the antics of the Bluth family & Co. in just a few months!
