Dogfish Head and Sierra Nevada Collaborate With Spiegelau To Design A Glass For IPA Enthusiasts
You’re familiar with the glasses that other drinks come in such as Martini’s, Stella’s chalice, Champagne, etc. Beers for the most part are typically served in your standard 16 oz pint glass or beer mugs.
Overtime, beer fans have grown and no longer viewed as “just a beer”, but an art form springing into craft beers filled with flavorful and aromatic yearly beer fests and craft beer weeks. No longer are there just wine connoisseurs, now there are beer connoisseurs.
So coming this April, a glass for IPAs will be released into the beer world.
Dozens of designs and taste tests, is a glassware with wavy ridges at the bottom with a narrow top. The ridges are to help aerate the beer and bring out the beer’s flavor and aroma. Some testers have noted that the IPA remained colder as well compared to a standard pint glass. The top is tall and narrow to push the IPA’s aromas into your nose.
