On the eve of the debut of their most recent — and quite brilliant — project, Bedstock, MyMusicRx delivers a short, heartwarming video that explains a little more about the foundation and what they do. It also showcases a few of the folks that work behind the scenes and one talented young man who will be featured on Bedstock which starts tomorrow, December 2nd, 2014.
The professional lineup includes the likes of Chromeo, Mark Foster, The Bots, JoJo, Shakey Graves and many more. The kids of MyMusicRx will also be participating and performing tunes from their very own beds for Bedstock as well.
I love this whole concept and just adore the association’s entire ethos in general. I really hope Bedstock picks up some serious steam in the hope that other big names in the music world will hear about the foundation and get down with the MyMusicRx cause themselves.
Help spread the word using #bedstock and #givingtuesday, and be sure to head on over to Bedstockfest.com tomorrow, December 2nd and check out all the performances. In the meantime, stop by their YouTube channel or Bedstockfest.com and watch a few teaser tunes from some of the children that were just uploaded. The videos were just uploaded, not the children. You wouldn’t upload a kid, silly…
As some of you already know, I’ve written about MyMusicRx in the past and they are a great organization. For those who are still unfamiliar, MyMusicRx is a foundation set up by the Children’s Cancer Association to bring music to kids suffering from long-term or serious illnesses. Not only do they get artists to play exclusive shows and send inspiring messages to these children, but they also have an interactive website that offers a few other nice amenities.
Stop on by their YouTube channel to check out some tunes and say hello. Also, you can head over to their website to donate or volunteer, if that’s your bag.
