Before the blockbuster hits like Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, and the Avengers, Marvel didn’t always make the awesome movies we know of today. To give you a bit of Marvel cinematic history, Jamie from AlltimeMovies (previously) presents the TV shows and movies that failed.
Going back to when it all started, the 1944 Captain America serial, a series of 15 chapters that had nothing to do with the comics. Then in 1978, Spider-Man was the first Marvel live action film was made with CBS followed by Dr. Strange and another attempt at Captain America. The video covers plenty more shows and films such as the TV show, The Incredible Hulk, cross-over shows, Howard The Duck, Punisher and other failures that caused Marvel to go bankrupt in 1996. With a few successes and plenty of losses along the way, Marvel eventually found the key to their success.
