This is an interesting animation that plays out a written account of vampire-type activity that occurred in Austria back in 1725. The story shows us just how far we have taken the vampire myth away from what it originally was in early folklore.
From The New York Times:
Our modern view of the vampire skews far from the original folkloric idea. With this Op-Doc, I hope to expand our conceptions, and maybe recalibrate them. I will know that I have succeeded when, in Halloweens to come, interspersed among our parades of seductive Draculas we see people dressed more like “a disheveled peasant” or a “blood-filled sack.”
