Let Your Imagination Run Wild With 3Doodler, a 3d pen by WobbleWorks That You Can Also Use In The Air.
WobbleWorks, a Boston, MA toy company startup founded in 2011, has launched a Kickstarter campaign today raising $30,000 by March 25, 2013 to lift your imagination off the paper with their first 3d printing pen, 3Doodler. With a year in development, WobbleWorks is now ready to put the 3d printing pen into production. Early supporters will get the tool for $50 and they plan to ship the product in September 2013.
For years, anything drawn has always been with a pen (or pencil) and paper. Now, with 3Doodler, you can create 2d art and take it off the paper or draw in mid air and create 3d art representing your taste and style.
How Does It Work?
Using the same material used by many 3D printers, ABS plastic for the ink, the 3Doodler draws in the air or on surfaces. There’s no need for any software or computer. It as simple as plugging it in like a hot glue gun.
As you draw, the heated plastic cools quickly and solidifies from a tiny fan near the nib allowing all shapes to be made.
Length x width: 180mm x 24mm (7.08″ x 0.94″)
Weight: less than 200 grams or 7 ounces (the weight of a typical apple), although the exact weight will depend on the final shell specifications once in production.
Power: Universal power supply. If you have an adapter for your country, the 3Doodler will work fine on 110v or 240v.
The 3Doodler is a tool and not a toy for children. Minimum age recommendation is 12+. The 3Doodler is extremely hot like a soldering iron at 270 C (518 F)
