The T-Rex and Megaladon are two examples of well-known prehistoric animals, but there were plenty of animals that were far more strange millions of years ago.
One such animal is the anomalocaris, a sea creature that was the top predator of the Cambrian ocean. It looks like a strange shrimp and towards the end of its body, were appendages that filtered feed.
Another animal is the chalicothere, an herbivore with long claws to strip vegetation and looked like a man, bear and horse mixed in one.
Platybelodon were also herbivores that looked like an elephant and platypus with two large teeth on the bottom jaw. They’re called “shovel tuskers” because it was believed that’s what they used to scoop up vegetation.
