RoboCop is one of the many popular movies in the 80s along with Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, The Shining, Scarface and many others.
In RoboCop, it’s set in Detroit, but various locations in Dallas were used for filming. With the movie released in 1987, it portrayed Detroit in financial ruin. Fast forward 26 years to 2013 and Detroit filed for bankruptcy. Although, the RoboCop outfit may appear easy to put on, in fact it took the actor, Peter Weller, 11 hours to put the suit on. And because it was so bulky, a lot of the car scenes, he shot in his underwear.
